FORMATIONS AND ANCHORS

Anchor Classification

Anchors they are classified, according to the level of initial load applied to them, into assets and liabilities .

The former are subjected to a stressing load, after their execution, generally of the same order of magnitude as the maximum foreseen in the project, and never less than 50% of the latter, while the latter are left with a Low initial load, although never less than 10% of the design maximum, which they normally acquire due to the movements of the structure.

Depending on the constituent elements of the stay cables, they are classified as cable anchors or bar anchors. Another classification that must be made is according to its useful life, thus, permanent anchorage is the one designed for a life of more than 10 years, and provisional anchorage is the one that must act for a period of less than 2 years, or less in the case of particularly aggressive environments and/or terrain.

Regarding the power to carry out operations that vary the load on the anchors during their useful life, they are classified as non -reloadable and reloadable On the other hand, they are also classified, depending on whether or not bulb reinjection, such as:

  • Global, permanent and temporary single injection (IGU)

  • Permanent and provisional repetitive injection (IR)

  • Permanent and provisional repetitive and selective injection (IRS).
